Turn back the clock to a single tier and unified nation

Reform UK’s Vision for Fairness, Merit, and Common-Sense Values

Reform UK believes that Britain’s public and private institutions should operate based on fairness, merit, and respect for all individuals. The current obsession with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) has undermined these principles, creating division, lowering standards, and prioritising ideology over competence.

We are committed to restoring common sense and unity by removing DE&I policies that have led to bias, inefficiency, and a lack of accountability.

1. Scrapping DE&I Roles and Regulations

The growth of costly DE&I departments has led to a culture of political correctness and division in public institutions. Reform UK will:

  • Abolish all DE&I roles across public institutions, including the civil service, police, NHS, and schools.
  • Remove DE&I-based hiring practices, ensuring promotions and opportunities are based on merit, skill, and performance.
  • Restore focus on high standards and excellence rather than political ideology

2. Protecting Free Speech

Political correctness and cancel culture have stifled free speech and created a climate of fear in British institutions. Reform UK will:

  • Introduce a Comprehensive Free Speech Bill that protects individuals from being punished for expressing their opinions.
  • Prevent public institutions from promoting or enforcing left-wing political ideologies under the guise of DE&I.
  • Legislate to end practices like ‘de-banking’ and other forms of censorship targeting individuals based on their views.

3. Ending Positive Discrimination

The 2010 Equality Act mandates discrimination in the name of ‘positive action,’ which has led to unfair treatment of individuals based on race, gender, or background. Reform UK will:

  • Replace the Equality Act with legislation that promotes true equality based on individual merit and fairness.
  • Ban the use of ‘positive action’ quotas that discriminate against individuals based on identity rather than ability.
  • Restore the principle of equal treatment for all, regardless of background.

4. Public Sector Training

Public sector training has increasingly been dominated by DE&I themes, including divisive critical race theory and gender ideology. Reform UK will:

  • Ban training programs that promote ideological indoctrination, such as Critical Race Theory and radical gender ideology.
  • Ensure all training focuses on professional competence, public service, and high standards, rather than political beliefs.
  • Make it clear that public institutions exist to serve the public impartially and fairly

5. Restoring Common Sense to Policing

Policing in Britain has become politicised, with officers focusing on social justice activism rather than law and order. Reform UK will:

  • Implement zero-tolerance policing that focuses on tackling crime and antisocial behaviour.
  • Scrap all DE&I-based policing policies and roles, ensuring that the focus is on protecting communities.
  • Overhaul the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to ensure that complaints are dealt with based on fairness and accountability.

Reform UK is committed to ending the culture of division created by DE&I policies. We believe that British values of fairness, meritocracy, and individual freedom must be protected, ensuring that every citizen has an equal opportunity to succeed based on their own abilities.

By removing the influence of divisive DE&I ideology, we will restore a unified Britain that values hard work, personal responsibility, and respect for all.
