Support the Winchester Reformquake
Excellent progress so far
Recently, we fielded a candidate in one of only two county council seats, a by-election triggered by a cynically late resignation from the incumbent Liberal Democrat councillor. This left just nine days to nominate a candidate.
Although the seat resignation by the Liberals was tactically as late in the day as possible (no doubt to compromise opposition preparations), this was not enough to prevent our vote share from increasing from 8% in the 2024 General Election to 13%.
This meant Reform gained more votes than any of the other parties. There were also signs that the Liberal Democrat hold on Winchester is crumbling, with the Conservatives leading the race to the bottom between themselves and the Liberal Democrats.
More votes gained than all the other parties
This result showed the first signs of the Reformquake fracturing the hold the traditional parties have held in Winchester for decades.
In addition, the latest Electoral Calculus figures (March 2025) suggest that this would rise to 18.5% in an immediate general election.
Given the recent quantum leap in Reform momentum, the trend points to Winchester becoming a winnable parliamentary seat for Reform.

Although we are still in the branch formation stage, the progress so far is enormously encouraging.
With over 750 paid-up members in the Winchester branch area, the momentum is building rapidly. To capitalise on this surge, we seek more new members and funding to support local campaigning.

We hate the thought that Britain is broken and aim to make a significant impact. Westminster and local politics has stagnated over the last 2 decades to the point where the traditional parties have lost all respect.
In Hampshire the county council is focussed on securing employment for public servants and asking for more and more money for pet projects. Services never improve and indebtedness just piles up.
It is time that the community stands up and rejects the traditional parties responsible for this mess to provide an opportunity for a new optimistic and outcomes focussed approach to local government.
